What to expect (from a financial coach)

Ok, I get it; you’re nervous. Or skeptical. Maybe just the thought of your finances makes you want to curl up into a ball and cry your eyes out. At any rate, know that I am here to help make your life easier regarding your money. Otherwise, you would not have reached out, right? So let me try to lay it out for you. If you are interested in hiring me, I would send you a questionnaire to get a bit of background. For example: what is your annual income? Do you have an emergency fund in place? What types of debt do you have and how much of each? You know, that sort of stuff. Remember, the more up front you are about your finances, the quicker we can co-author a plan of attack.

Here is the way I work: I prefer to get to know you as a person/couple before we dig into the nitty gritty. That’s the main reason I like having a free 15 minute consultation call. Here are some examples of questions that will typically spark the conversation. What are your views on money? What was the relationship that your parents had with money? What is your “why?” Why do you want to get out of debt? Why do you want to build an emergency fund? Why do you always feel compelled to spend money you don’t have?

Is it starting to get a little clearer?

Trust. Trust that whatever you share with me stays with me. Complete confidentiality. Your goals become my goals as I want you to succeed. I walk with you on this journey as changing behaviors can be challenging and scary. There will be times that you may want to quit, and I am here to encourage and motivate you to KEEP GOING. We will develop a plan together so that you can receive the results you want.
